Green cleaning with homemade cleaners
Window cleaner: Mix ½ cup white vinegar with 1 quart warm water

Oven cleaner: Mix 1 part vinegar with 4 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray onto a cool oven surface and scrub (use baking soda on extra stubborn areas).

All-purpose bathroom/kitchen cleaner: Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 pint of warm water. Add lemon juice or vinegar to cut grease.

Toilet bowl cleaner: Flush the toilet to wet the sides. Sprinkle 1 cup borax then 1 cup white vinegar around the bowl. Let sit for several hours before scrubbing with a toilet brush.

Drain cleaner: Pour 1-2 cups baking soda down drain, followed by ½ cup vinegar. Cover the drain for 1 minute, then flush with warm water.

Wash me!- Eco-friendly car-washing

Consider washing your car on your lawn instead of on the driveway. This will reduce runoff to the street and into storm sewers. Use a bucket instead of a hose. Try one of these car shampoos: Mix ½ cup white vinegar with ½ cup baby shampoo or Mix ¼ cup vegetable-oil-based liquid soap with hot water.
