The Executive Committee serves as its board of directors, establishing group priorities, goals, strategies, and policies. Don't be a closet recycler. Get involved! Are you familiar with your community's approach to solid waste disposal? Do you have any idea how much trash your town generates? Would you like to initiate or become part of a team that works within your community to increase recycling while reducing the amount of solid waste that needs to be incinerated? Then join us in our efforts to increase recycling in Essex County. Learn about different approaches (no visible recyclables, waste reduction program (WRP), or pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) plan) your town can employ to reduce the amount of solid waste that needs to be disposed of. Find out what other towns in Essex County have done to address the solid waste disposal challenge and how they have reduced their solid waste disposal costs in the process. Contact us (Heidi Roberts at heidiroberts@comcast.net or Bill Carlson at pilgrims2@comcast.net) or come to our next meeting (see Meetings and Events for details). Essex
Group needs volunteers! |
