The Massachusetts Chapter is part of the world's most influential environmental organization. The Sierra Club has been devoted to preserving nature's miracles for over 100 years, and the Massachusetts Chapter has been active for more than 30 years, preserving and protecting our commonwealth - the air, water, land, and wildlife on which we all depend. We'd like to invite you to join us, and the more than 25,000 members across Massachusetts, and 700,000 members nationwide, who want to make the world safe for all creatures great and small.

One of the easiest ways to become an activist is to join the Sierra Club, or make a donation. You can join online right now! This will take you to the Sierra Club national site where you can submit a secure form, or print out a mail-in form to activate your membership right away. When you join the Sierra Club you are automatically enrolled in your local chapter and will receive the Sierran, our local newsletter. You'll also receive up-to-date news on conservation issues plus invitations to chapter events. You can also volunteer for our local or national conservation campaigns.

GIVE
You can donate directly to our efforts here in Massachusetts to preserve and protect the natural world. Your donations will support our statewide efforts to preserve public lands and open space, protect marine and coastal habitats, and fight sprawl by working to ensure balanced transportation choices for all. To learn more about how your donations are used in direct support of our Massachusetts programs, please visit our Politics & Issues home page to learn more about our conservation work in Massachusetts.

There are three types of donations you can make:

Send all donations to:

Massachusetts Sierra Club
100 Boylston Street, Suite 760
Boston MA 02116

Specify on the memo line which type of donation you wish to make, Regular, Tax-deductible, or Special Projects Fund (please specify project name).

Regular Donation (Non Tax-deductible) (click here to return to donations list)
These donations are the most valuable to us because there are no restrictions on the way the funds may be used in support of our our effective, citizen-based advocacy and lobbying efforts here in Massachusetts. These donations and are not tax-deductible. Please make checks payable to Massachusetts Sierra Club.

Tax-deductible Donation (click here to return to donations list)
You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Sierra Club Foundation and specify that the funds be used specifically in Massachusetts to support our non-lobbying educational efforts on behalf of the environment. Make checks payable to Sierra Club Foundation - Massachusetts Chapter Account.

Special Projects Fund (click here to return to donations list)
If you wish, you can make tax-deductible donation directly to a special projects fund administered on behalf of the chapter by the Sierra Club Foundation.
We currently have two special projects funds available:
Mt Wachusett Fund: Donations to support our ongoing efforts and litigation to prevent the clearcutting of public parklands by a private developer on Mt Wachusett in central Massachusetts. Make checks payable to Sierra Club Foundation - Mt Wachusett Fund
Wildlife Fund: The Massachusetts Chapter's Wildlife Fund was established in honor of the late Stewart and Abigail Avery, lifetime members of the Massachusetts Sierra Club. Funds go directly to wildlife preservation efforts in Massachusetts, including preservation of the Northern Right Whale. Make checks payable to Sierra Club Foundation - Massachusetts Chapter Wildlife.

When you join or give to the Sierra Club you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping preserve irreplaceable wildlands, save endangered and threatened wildlife, and protect this fragile environment we call home. You can be sure that your voice will be heard through congressional lobbying and grassroots action on the environmental issues that matter to you most.

Note: General contributions, gifts, and dues to the Sierra Club are not tax deductible. They support our effective, citizen-based advocacy and lobbying efforts. Your dues include $7.50 for your subscription to Sierra Magazine and $1 for your Chapter newsletter. Tax-deductible donations specified above are made directly to the Sierra Club Foundation.
